USCG Marine Protector Class Coast Patrol Boat (CPB)

CHAND developed logistics products for the USCG 87’ CPB program during its build cycle at Bollinger. Today, CHAND serves as a Life Cycle Support entity for the cutters as they continue their service to the fleet. CHAND’s logistics support efforts for the program included: Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RM&A); Configuration Management (CM); Configuration Status Accounting (CSA); Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD); Cutter Information Book (CIB); Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Manuals; Factory Training; Familiarization Training; and Spare Parts Sourcing, Procurement, Handling and Outfitting.

Bollinger built the CPB Marine Protector Class cutters beginning with an award in March of 1995 and continued until the 74th cutter was delivered in 2009. The CPB can support several missions, including drug smuggling interdiction, marine fisheries enforcement, search and rescue support, and illegal immigration interdiction.

The CPB is 87 feet long with a 19.5-foot beam, displaces 91 long tons, and has a range of 900 nautical miles while accommodating 10 crew members. The CPB is capable of speeds up to 25 knots has an endurance of 3 days. The CPB is outfitted with two .50 caliber machine guns.
