Ship is designed and constructed to provide general purpose oceanographic survey operations in coastal and deep ocean areas, including: oceanographic sampling; launch, recovery, and towing of tethered and autonomous science packages; handling, monitoring, and servicing of remotely-operated vehicles; shipboard oceanographic data processing and sample analysis; precise navigation, track line maneuvering, and station keeping to support deep ocean and coastal surveys; and launch and recovery of hydrographic survey launches.
Services include Program Management; Supply Support (Spare Parts Procurement and Spares Outfitting); and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). ILS functions include configuration management (using MERLIN and ROMIS MMS); provisioning, training, and technical manuals (including commercial off the shelf (COTS), Engineering Operator’s Manual, Damage Control (DC) Manual, and Special Purpose System Manuals).
